In order to adhere to the Health & Safety of the ASA and Burnt Mill School, we do have to follow a few rules which applies to all pupils and adults at The Swimming Academy - you will need to take these on board as follows:-
- Changing rooms - Children of 7 and under can be changed for swimming in the gender of the carer. Children of 8 and above / adults are to change in the room of their gender
- No photography without prior consent of the school
- Pupils to be medically fit for lessons
- Pupils are not to swim with open wounds or sores
- Pupils to use the toilet before lessons
- Girls to wear one piece costumes
- Boys to wear trunks (not shorts- air gets trapped making it difficult for them to swim)
- Jewellery to be removed prior to lessons
- No consuming of main meals one hour prior to lessons – a small light snack up to 30 mins beforehand is acceptable
- Swim caps are preferred – especially long hair
- It is preferred that goggles are not worn in Levels 1 & 2
- Parents are responsible for children in the changing rooms & corridors
- All staff are responsible for children on poolside.
Poolside rules are re-iterated to pupils at the begining of each term.
